I'd say the Sales Rep, because they're the direct beneficiary of the value delivered in implementing the story.

Kind regards

There was a typo... re-posting

I have a simple question regarding what should be the correct Role in a story, maybe you can clarify my confusion.

The case is the following:

The Product Owner has thought up a story which is about changing the telephone number where the customer can call after making a purchase. Right now, Marketing’s dept. phone number is listed in the e-mail sent out to the customer, but the Product Owner thought it would be wiser to put there a Sales representative phone number instead.

So, my question is:

Is “Product Owner” the correct role for this story (because the PO was the one that thought that implementing this change would be benefitial, or because he simply wrote it on behalf of the Sales representative or Marketing's people because he thought it would help), or is “Sales representative” (who is actually the one really interested on having the customer call him -and not Marketing-), or “Marketing" people, because they don't want to be bothered anymore by customers with questions that have nothing to do with Marketing?

I would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.
